Fourth of July Lesson Plans for Parents

Usually, school is not in session on the Fourth of July. A great historical figure to review when teaching about the Fourth of July is Betsy Ross. Once you have reviewed special contributors to American history, you should implement various activities in order to keep the impact of the educational experience fresh in the mind of the child that you are teaching.

Lastly, you can teach children about the Fourth of July by placing a flag in or around your home. This can lead to a discussion on what the various colors and symbols of the flag represent. You can also attend a firework party in which you can explain to the child why we celebrate the Fourth of July by shooting off fireworks.
